I’m firmly believe that our home organization skills or lack there of starts as a child.  We really rely on our parents to teach us everything, but sometimes important teachings slip through the cracks.  All of us probably remember as a child being told to clean up our room, but how to actually organize it was a mystery to us.  Organization skills are usually learned by observing others and duplicating their routine.  The lack of organization skills can lead to frustration! For instance:

Scenario 1:  A person with no organization skills:  If they walk into a really disorganized room chances are they will feel totally overwhelmed and useless.  This is precisely why I did a lot of organizing projects for friends and family while growing up.

Scenario 2:  A person with organization skills:  They will look at the mess as a challenge and organize it to keep all things in order.  Actually its almost like a piece of a puzzle they need to keep their own  world aligned.  I know that sounds very strange! But once you acquire organization skills it becomes very difficult to have anything unorganized in your life!

As a child my home organization skills started with daily routines such as getting ready for school, doing homework and chores.  Your mind starts to put everything in order and by priority which essentially is the start of organization skills.
